Aircraft Features
The Learjet 85 was to become the flagship of Canadian manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace’s line of business jets. It was Bombardier’s first jet built entirely from composite materials and, at the same time, the first business jet in the world with that design to receive FAR 25 certification. The design and construction program for the aircraft was launched in late 2007.
State-of-the-art manufacturing technology will reduce aerodynamic drag and improve the aircraft’s performance. Created from scratch, the Learjet 85 will have a high cruising speed of 829 km/h and a transcontinental range of up to 5,556 km. This business jet can be used on long-distance routes such as Moscow – Chita or Moscow – Casablanca. Pratt & Whitney Canada PW307B engines provide an optimal balance between flight performance and technical and economic indicators, while maintaining low emissions and noise levels. The Learjet 85 can carry up to 10 passengers and is optimally configured for 6-8 seats.
The Learjet 85’s cabin is considerably superior to others: it is spacious and refined. Passenger comfort and convenience are ensured with dual club seating in the stand-up cabin, a spacious galley, a lavatory and three toilet compartments. Overall, the Learjet 85 has a maximum height of 5 feet 11 inches (1.80 m) and a maximum width of 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 m).
The Learjet 85’s spacious galley offers the space and ergonomic design to meet all of your culinary needs wherever you go. At approximately 36 inches (91.3 cm) wide, it provides more than enough storage space for utensils, beverages and ice, as well as accommodating an additional microwave for preparing hot meals.
From the efficient main cabin layout to the true club layout with reclining seats for bed-like comfort, every element of the Learjet 85 interior is designed to increase productivity and comfort. The pitch between each seat is approximately 28 inches (71.1 cm), so passengers have more room than ever to stretch out and relax.
Customized lighting features take comfort and productivity to a new level on every flight. There’s individual desk lighting for working, reading lights for relaxing with your favorite book, cupholder lighting, racetrack lighting in the passenger service unit, and aisle lighting to light the way.
In keeping with the Learjet 85’s refined interior, the lavatory is beautifully designed, combining functionality with impeccable aesthetics, with amenities such as a gravity-flow faucet and sink, a water tank, and a vanity with illuminated mirror, taking advantage of every extra inch.
This next-generation Learjet business jet is a big deal, offering up to 95 cubic feet (2.83 m³) of external baggage storage and up to 30 cubic feet (0.85 m³) of internal baggage storage for any personal items you might want to stow.
For ultimate convenience, each seat is equipped with large, easy-to-use Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) touchscreens that connect to the Ethernet-based Digital Electronic Cockpit System (CES), which offers additional features such as a Blu-ray player and HD monitors, XM Satellite Radio capabilities and the ability to use personal media devices.
Interior and cabin
This is the largest interior of a Learjet business jet ever built. Spacious and sophisticated, the Learjet 85 business jet has a larger and more comfortable cabin than today’s midrange aircraft. From the efficient main cabin layout to its true double-club design with fully reclining seats, every element of its cutting-edge interior is designed to enhance performance and comfort.
